Camping Onchères ***

Nice campsite with everything we needed for our holiday with three children. Direct beach access, nice atmosphere and flair (which not all campsites have anymore), friendly staff - great time. The only negative note (which the campsite can do little about): The ground is very sandy, which made it difficult to anchor the tent's ground anchors in the wind. Trees then helped so that the tent didn't fly away.

Nice campsite. Staying in a tent for two weeks we had a nice, quiet, large and semi-shaded location. Wooded, the campsite is pleasant. Several small play areas for children. Swimming pool very popular with children, with slide and paddling pool. Sufficient entertainment which can be noisy in the evening near the snack bar. Good fries at the snack bar! Grocery store to help out. Please note, this one is closed the last week of the school holidays, which surprised us. The quality of the sanitary facilities is irregular depending on the blocks... The water temperature too! Block B was average. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities leaves much to be desired, especially on the walls and ceilings, which are probably poorly cleaned and on which there are mainly cobwebs. Personally it didn't bother me. What bothers me more is when the water in the showers is cold (this happened once; head to block D where the water was hot!)! One last remark: a maintenance person was not friendly on the day of our departure, Friday 9 a.m. I arrived for some small dishes (two bowls and a cup) and the person told me that I cannot do the dishes here because she is going to clean the bins. She asks me to come back later or go to another block. But we were about to leave (we were folding) and given the small quantity to wash I insisted on doing it quickly, after which she replied in an unpleasant tone that she was not on vacation and didn't have all the time. Rather inappropriate I think.

2nd year on this campsite, still very pleasant despite this year not great weather, just a small downside already noted last year is the state of the sanitary facilities which in my opinion would seriously need to be renovated, because between the holes in the walls in the toilets and tablets in the showers which are annoying, the water is not hot for the dishes and only one dryer for such a large campsite, in my opinion it is limiting and deteriorates the image of this very friendly campsite . This, I believe, will not prevent us from coming back with great pleasure.
